The Ministry of Agriculture would like to inform the General Public especially all farmers residing in the country that the Agriculture Census is still being carried out at the Orange Walk District. The Census in Orange Walk is expected to end on the 21st of December 2018. The following districts to follow is Corozal, Stann Creek and Toledo District.

The Ministry advises farmers that if they didn’t had the opportunity to registered, they can still visit their Agriculture Department located in their district to get registered. Working Hours are from Monday to Friday-8:00a.m to 5:00 p.m.

The Belize Agriculture Census is a count of all the farmers and farm activities in Belize. It will present the state of agriculture in the country on who, what, and how much is being produced.

It will Collect production data and provide a true picture of the contribution of agriculture and food production to the socio-economic development of Belize. It will develop a farmer and farm registry which will provide tools for the better delivery of services and targeting of resources to farmers.

Every farmer who participate will be provided with an official Farmer Identification Card recognizing you as a farmer.

By knowing where you are and what you produce we can better respond to your needs in times of disaster recovery, pest and disease outbreak or any other assistance required.
